What is Osteopathy?

"A system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body; and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together."

Osteopathy is essentially an effective from of diagnoses and treatment for pain and dysfunction in the body. At its most simplest, an osteopath is someone who is rigorously trained for over four years and has an in-depth and has an in-depth specialist knowledge of human anatomy and the functional workings of the muscles and joints in the body, and their links to the nervous system.

Most osteopaths' take a holistic approach to the body, rather than just looking at a patients issue in isolation. Each person is then treated as an individual, taking into account their lifestyle, habits and unique physical make up.

The ultimate aim of osteopathy is to reduce pain, return the body to its optimum state of health and show patients how to stay there.
